Aryna Sabalenka beat Rebeka Masarova 6-2 7-5 to reach the quarter final at the Berlin Open for the second consecutive year.
Sabalenka came back from 2-4 down in the second set in her first match since losing the Roland Garros Final to Coco Gauff two weeks ago.
Sabalenka set up a quarter final match against 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, who beat Katerina Siniakova 6-4 7-6 (7-5)
Sabalenka saved all six break points she faced she faced in the first set. She broke twice in the second and eighth games to win the first set 6-2.
Masarova earned an early break in the first game of the second set before saving four break points to take a 3-1 lead. Sabalenka broke back with a volley winner in the eighth game to draw level to 4-4. Masarova held serve to draw level to 5-5 after four deuces.
Masarova came back from 1-4 down in the tie-break. Sabalenka hit three forehand winners of the match and converted her third match point as Makarova netted a forehand.
