Danielle Collins has criticised ‘keyboard warriors’ after she received abuse for the way she exited the tournament in Cincinnati.

The American was seen crying during her first round defeat to Taylor Townsend in Ohio with Collins losing 6-4 7-6(2).

After the match many people criticised Collins on social media labelling the 11th seed as a ‘crybaby.’

Once everything had settled Collins had criticised the trolls and revealed that she suffered a herniated disc, “Anyone who has a herniated disc knows my pain,” Collins revealed on her Instagram story.

“It’s no surprise the keyboard warriors can’t understand or relate, as they’ve been too busy sitting on their asses judging people who show up and try to give it their best even on days that suck. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for my injury and thank you to Taylor Townsend for being the best of the best.”

Collins has known to be a controversial figure in tennis so it should be no surprise that the American is engaged in another war of words with fans.

The American is currently 57 in the world and will be hoping to end her season on a high note with the US Open fast approaching.

The US Open starts on the 25th of August.
